Overview

What it is & why it’s complex

Boros is a yield-trading platform on margin by Pendle. It enables trading of funding rates from various sources — including off-chain funding rates from centralized exchanges — and may expand to further yield categories.

Boros extends Pendle’s yield-trading thesis into leveraged yield markets. Margin, liquidation, and directional yield exposure compound the complexity: every one of those concepts has to be legible the moment a user opens a position.

System & Problem

Trading a rate, not a price

Funding rates are the periodic payments that keep perpetual markets tethered to spot. Boros turns those rates into something you can trade directly — going long or short the rate itself, with leverage. Because positions are margined, gains and losses are amplified, and a position can be liquidated if the rate moves against it.

That layering is what made it hard: leverage and liquidation risk stacked on an already-abstract idea. The experience had to keep users oriented while several fast-moving variables interact.

  • Funding rates as a tradable, directional instrument — unfamiliar to most users.

  • Margin and leverage that amplify both outcome and risk.

  • Liquidation thresholds that must be visible before, not after, they bite.

  • Long vs. short yield exposure and overall market structure.

Depth on demand — the Boros documentation hub splits by reader: platform docs for traders, Academy for guided learning, and dev docs for integrators, so the system stays learnable without cluttering the product.

System → usable experience

I designed the trading flows, screens, and data visualization so users can read their position, margin, and risk at a glance — and act with a clear sense of the downside.

Website & Marketing Design

The front door to the protocol

Beyond the app, I designed and shipped the Boros landing page — the page that turns a visitor’s first impression into an open position, and gives partners and press their reference point.

The same care extends to marketing: the cosmic serpent key visual I directed for launch carries through campaign art and social — one image system a viewer recognizes as Boros wherever it shows up.

Visual & Brand System

A language built for trust

The brand direction, app UI, landing page, and documentation hub share one coherent system — giving a leveraged trading product the clarity and credibility users need to commit capital.

Pendle Media Kit — logos, typography, and color system Boros builds on

Boros builds on the brand system I made for Pendle — the same logo suite, typography, and tokenized palette, extended with a darker, sharper register for leveraged trading — published as a public media kit teams build on.

To keep that language alive beyond my own hands, Boros gets its own canvas — the same design tool I built for Pendle, stocked with a Boros-style asset library so anyone on the team can compose visuals that stay on brand by default.

Boros Canvas — the brand system as a tool — a drag-and-drop library of Boros-style vector assets with an AI composer, so marketing visuals ship in the product’s own visual language without a designer in the loop.
